    1. [FARRELLY] Farrelly's in Sth Australia
    2. Sharon
    3. Does anyone have any Sth Australian or West Australian connections with the Farrelly surname? Did your Farrelly families have strong connections with the Catholic Church? Was your Farrelly surname recorded as Farley sometimes (especially early on)? I have Farrelly's recorded in SA in 1857, sometimes as Farley but mostly as Farrelly. John & Ann Farrelly, nee Brady (both born c.1806 probably Cavan Ireland & married in Ireland) were raising their family of 7 children in Sth Australia at that time. Their children:- Michael b.c1834 Thomas b.c.1836 John b.c.1838 Patrick b.c.1842 Bridget Mary b.c.1848 Peter b.c.1849 Edward Francis b.c1851 I'm presuming by the way the names are repeatedly handed down, that Michael may have been the name of the father of John b.c1806 & Thomas may have been the name of Ann Brady's father. Family stories say that Ann Brady was the sister of Fr. John Brady who became the 1st Archbishop of Perth. I have not found any proof of this but it appears Fr John Brady was a native of Cortobber, Castletara and served in Sydney around 1845. There are so many of us on this list searching similar names - I hope something may connect with other families. Regards, Sharon
