Michael, James, John and Patrick FARRELLY sons of James and Margaret were born in Castlerahan, Cavan, Northern Ireland between 1839-1846. The brothers came to Sydney Australia in the 1860s. Michael became a mounted policeman. He drowned crossing a river during a winter storm in northern NSW in 1863. John and James settled in Sydney and were prosperous dairy farmers in the Randwick/Waverley areas. Most of their descendants still live in Sydney. John married Mary McGovern and James married Hannah Sullivan. Cheers from Jill in Sydney.
