The spelling ‘Farley’ was also used. The given names Bernard, (Barney) Owen, Patrick, Hugh, Christopher were common. In Particular one Bernard (Farrelly) Farley whose known (transient) address in Dec. 1873 was Barony, Lanarkshire in Scotland. One of his sons Christopher took part in the ‘Lock Out’ of 1912 and later the Easter Rising 1916 where he fought alongside Eamonn DeValera at Boland’s Mills and in later life worked for the Irish Press in Dublin.
