Hoping it's OK to jump in on the Farrelly discussion. I am also in Australia with Farrelly's having migrated and settled in South Australia around the 1850's. First recording of them is a marriage in 1856 - so they were here before then. I have a John & Ann Farrelly with the following children, Michael, Thomas, John Patrick, Bridget Mary, Peter & Edward Francis. The children's birthdates range from c.1834-1851. I haven't been able to find when they came to Australia or the births of any of these children in Australia. There is also a connection to a Terrence Farrelly who settled in Western Australia. Family story is that they came from Cavan but we have nothing to prove this.
