I'd also suggest that you say you're looking for Catherine Farrelly, born such and such a date, married so and so, but don't say she's your birth mother, as that could be a shock to her or her children. Alternatively, you could ask for advice about how to find a birth mother from Brooklyn. Give dates again, but don't give name.
