I believe he & Elizabeth went there with Margaret. 2 or 3 sons suppose to have gone to GA. Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated, Derrell Oakley Teat

    3. Hi Derrell! I did a double take, when I saw a mention of Shelby Co., AL mentioned in the Farr list. My Farrs were part of the group of Farrs that settled there in the early 1800's when the Indian lands were opened up for white settlers. I thought I was pretty well versed on the Shelby Co. Farrs, but seems you have brought in a new connection on me. A couple of years ago, I had worked with some other researchers on connecting our Farrs that went to Shelby Co., AL with those that came from the Lexington Co., area of SC. We have pretty well traced our branch back to a German immigrant that was given a land grant in Dutch Fork area of SC, by the name of John George Fahr, (notice the difference in spelling). We believe that most of the Farrs in Shelby Co. were from that family, because many of them had German given names. Apparently you descend from Margaret that married the Hodgens. Did her descendants stay in the Shelby Co. AL area, or did they move on to other places? Do you know of any other Farrs related to yours that lived in SC? I was under the impression that most of those that lived in the NW part of SC were descendants of Col. William Farr, that settled in Union Co., SC. Any thoughts on either connections that I have mentioned, i.e. John George Fahr or Col. William Farr? Thanks for your time.
