    3. Karen...here's what happened The test for Heritage Quest was for libraries and citizens of West Virginia. We are considering offering this database as a service to all West Virginia citizens through their libraries. Although the test was intended for West Virginians, the URL and passwords were posted nationwide. Our hits went from a few dozen a day to 7,500 a day. Not what we intended. If we do re-institute the test of this wonderful database it will most likely be through IP recognition at the state's 176 public libraries. If we do decide to offer the database as a service to the state's libraries, IP recognition will be part of the signon. So, spread the word. Move to West Virginia. Get great library service. After that the password page would not come up. Wonder why. Have a William Farr (full age) who married Sarah Anne Jones (full age) (father Thomas Jones Coalminer) in 1877 in Oldham. I know that their grandson played Rugby League for Wales so there must be a connection to Wales somewhere. Might be worth keeping a note in case anything comes up. Any tie ins? Helen. Helen Whilst I have no wish to stifle discussion on the List, I didn't know if you were aware that there is a separate List for FARR in the British Isles (details below). I set this up last year, as I was aware that many people researching UK FARRs did not subscribe to the FARR-L list as they found it too general and mainly serving the US. We have currently 30+ members and I cross-post details from the FARR List if I think they are useful. You might want to try subbing and posting there too. cheers, Pete Brown Groby Leicestershire /\___/\ | o o | >(( v ))< \ _^_ / FARR-UK-L Topic: The FARR-UK mailing list is for the discussion and sharing of information regarding the Farr surname and variations (e.g., Farre, Pharr) in the United Kingdom and Ireland For questions about this list, contact the list administrator at FARR-UK-admin@rootsweb.com. · Subscribing.
