He was born in Kansas City, Mo., and was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. He served in the Navy. Survivors include his daughters, Tina Farr of San Diego and Africa Farr of Sacramento; sons, Torrance Farr of San Diego and Asmar Farr Wingfield of Dallas, Texas; stepson, Terrance Wingfield of Chapin, S.C.; sister, Helen Jenetta Walker of Kansas City, Mo.; and 14 grandchildren. Private services are planned at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma. Donations: American Diabetes Association. Arrangements: California Cremation & Burial Chapel.
