I am also researching Farr/Farrow in SC and GA. I went to the Greenville library this weekend in SC and copied census index from 1800-1830. I found 3 Thos Farr in 1800 - 2 in Columbia, 1 in Beaufort) They were gone in 1820. There are 3 Thos Farrow (Charleston, Newberry, Spartanburg) in 1800 thru 1830 There are Farr's and Farrow's listed in Union throughout (like William B Farr in 1800 - maybe who you're looking for?? Haven't found a Thos in Union. There's a TG Farr in Union 1830 and "Titus" Farr in Union in 1820. Would you like for me to send you jpg.s? Maybe we can help each other. I am also looking for a James H Farrow (from GA born 1851). His parents are Joel (Joseph?) Farrow/ Farron and Hannah (Cleveland??) Thanks :) Debbie Deaton
Hi Debbie! I believe there was some Thomas Farrs on the coast of SC, that were planters on St. James or St. Johns Island. I found some stuff on them in Charleston at the archives there. I have done a good bit of research on the Farrs in SC, and know about Col. William Farr descendants. Eugene Farr has a lot on them, have you met him? My Farrs, I finally found in the Lexington area, were the descendants of John George Fahr, who was a German Immigrant, that received a land grant in the Dutch Fork area. My Farrs, migrated on to Shelby Co., AL in the early 1830-40's, and then my branch on into Monroe Co., MS. In MS, there are other Farrs that I cannot connect with, and there are also lots of Farrars and variations. Hope this helps some.
