Allen's daughter was named Emma Florence Farr (son, Charles Allyn) so there might be a family connection-- often names are recycled. Family store that the "Allen" spelling was changed because the minister A. S. Farr was named after fell out of favor. So Samuel might be the family name. I have photos of Allen, Lyman, and Lyman's wife Nancy.
