My brother and I have been able to trace back over 5 generations of Robinson;s. We are the great-grt-grt-grt-grt-granchildren of a "James Robinson" who was born also in 1780. What we know of this James Robinson is, that he was a man of colour, we also know for a fact that he was a loyalist and was given freedom and granted land in 1804 in St. Andre D'Argenteuille Quebec. he was married to a woman by the name of Marie Trottier (possibly aka: Mary Trotter). James died in 1850. Could this be the same James Robinson that you are researching?. Any info that you have we be very gratefully appreciated. Thank You P. Potter
