He was a doctor and preacher. First wife Martha J Newsom, born 1833 in Tenn, died 1883 in Texas Dont have wedding date. Second wife Georgia Ann Leaky married July 25 1883. I am related by John and Martha's daughter Frances (Fannie) born May 14, 1872 in Tennesse, died March 4 1938 in Gorman, Texas. -------------------------------------------- Frances married John See, they had Hugh William See. Hugh married Leanna Rebecca Williams, their daughter Lorena Ruth married Willie Dennis and Willie and Lorena had my mother Dixie Laverne. Sorry this is about all I have, the info I have was sent to me by a decendant of Georgia Leaky and alittle I got off the messege boards. I am not sure where his parents were born, but I was told a census said in NC, I have not seen this census for my self. Also my grt-grandfather had told his children and grandchildren that Martha Newsom( his grandmother) was a full blood Cherokee. I hope someone out there can help me out with this, Im really stuck on this one.
