Classification: Death Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/pdV.2ACEB/669 Message Board Post: He was 81 He lived in Austin, TX where he died Sunday, Aug 18,2002 He was born June 4, 1921 in San Angelo, TX to Nola Rattan and Louis Lee Farr Jr. He grew up at teh Bar S Ranch in Irion and Reagan Counties and was the last of three generations of the Farr family to manage it in both Texas and New Mexico He attended Culver Military Instute in Culver, In where he was captain of the 1939-1940 polo team. He graduated in June 1940,receiving reserve commission as a second lieutenant in the US Army He married Lou Dickey Baucus Sept 14,1941 in Kansas City MO He served in WWII in the European Theater, receiving his commission in March 1942 and earned a Bronze Star. After teh war, he continue to operate the Bar S Ranch. He was a past chairman of the Miss Wool of American Pageant, president of theTexas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association, member of the Anxiety 4th Hereford Association and a 32nd Degree Mason. Survived by wife, Lou Dickey Farr; sons Dr. Louis Lee Farr IV and wife Annis, William Baucus Farr and wife Jannelle, Phil S Darr and wife Billie; sonin law Herbie Ross Taylor, seven grandchildren;7 great-grandchildren and his sister,Jane McDonald He was predeceased by his daughter Penelope Farr Taylor; brotehr,Jim R Farr and sister Ellen E Heitkamp.
