Though they are not part of my husband's Nixon's (so far) I have developed a file on her and her siblings so that I can keep them separate from each other and figure out who belongs to which tree as I come across data. I have files going on five different Nixon families that are found in the West Central Georgia area ca 1840 - 1900 (and later). I have Elizabeth's father as Thomas T. Nixon, found in the 1820 census of Jackson Co., GA as Thomas Nickson. He is the found in the 1840 census of Newton Co., GA as Thomas T. Nixon. Children of Thomas T. Nixon (wife unknown) are: (1) Elizabeth Nixon m. Jesse Phar/Farr (2) Permelia Nixon m. William H. Potter (3) Jane "Jenny" Nixon m. Usibus/Aselum (Slayton) Slaton (4) Jarvey Nixon m. It's the big library that has a covered walkway across the street, leading from one library to the history center. I've only been there one time, in March, so I can't tell you much more. I want to go back when time permits -- I barely scratched surface to see what was available. Good luck.

My proven FARR line begins with Thomas and Mary FARR. The 1860 census indicated Thomas was born in PA, however, subsequent census info did not have this detail Also, on later census, he, nor his ch indicated a connection to PA -- only SC. Of Thomas' surviving children, the eldest two (proven) were born in SC and the youngest two (proven) were born in GA. After the Civil War, Thomas' son David settled in first Jackson Co., AL then Marshall Co., AL. I visited up there in October and found a grave in the Chaney's Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery for a DAVID FARR b: 1792 d: 1876 and wife/'Susan d: 1916. My David (wife: Adeline) died after 1910 and is buried in New Prospect Cemetery; however, my Wilsons are buried there (David's nephews family via his sister). I don't have any info on the other David at present.

Henry, Senior - the farthest back I can go - was present on the 1800 census, and not after as a head of household. Henry Jr had an older male in the home on the 1810 census. Haven't found out enough about Henry Sr. to have more dates. Hope this helps, Joyce

I just wondered if FBrunson is connected to Miss Eddie Farr who married Drewy Brunson. I believe they lived in Dawson, GA. My Farr's were from Blakely, GA. I haven't been able to trace them back further than Jesse J. Farr who lived in Augusta, GA in 1870. I would appreciate any help B. Barnes

A few years back, we were in NM, and in a museum there, I noticed a quilt hanging on the wall, that was embroirdered with cattle branding marks. I also noticed on of them belonged to a Farr ranch. I asked the people in the museum, if they knew anything about the Farr family that lived around there, and they didn't know much about them, but they explained that all the cattle in the area roamed in open range mode, so they were branded so that they could sort them out. I think the Farr ranch that I noticed was not a T. R. Farr, but seems like it was a W. or William Farr. I have not found any connection of those Farrs and mine, so far, but thought that this might help someone that might be related to some of the Farrs in that area.
