The annual reunion at Farr's Chapel will be held again this year, on the second Sunday in June, as it has been for more than 100 years. I do not have much information on this Alfred FARR, possibly his wife's name is Harriett. Please contact me if you would like to share information about this FARR family or the reunion. I'm looking for a Jeannie Farr from Alderley, Cheshire. I found an old message from her, but the email has probably changed, as I get no response. Does anyone know of Jeannie, and do they have a new email address? Thanks Sue Pauls

It looks like we are both looking for the same family information. Jesse Farr was my great great grandfather and his son John Hayes was my great grandfather. No written proof as to the name of Jesse's father but his grandson, Rev. Joseph Farr's papers states that he found positive proof that his name was John, and it is believed that his father was also named John and that he had lived in the Savannah, Georgia area..

Historical Society, Jesse's father was named John. Unfortunately, the author does not cite the source for this fact, and I do not know whether it is accurate. The same book says John Farr, father of Jesse Farr, came to GA with Ogelthorpe. That is almost certainly not true. There is no Farr listed as one of the 116 or so passengers who arrived with Ogelthorpe, and no Farr's are listed among the 3,000 or so early settlers compiled by Merton Coulter. There is some indication that Jesse was born in Warren Co. and there were Farr families there around 1800. I have not had the time to chase that rabbit. I was only able to connect my Farr's to Jesse within the last year.
