    3. Sorry Lib, all my Farr's are Northern States Farrs. There is a major line of VA and Southern States' Farrs that has had a lot of research. Eugene Farr in MO has written a book and we were in touch until recently but his email no longer works. Find someone that works those Southern States. Good luck! =;-D Elizabeth Pitts wrote: > Donald, do you have a female Farr who married a George Bowen Nov 18, 1781 at > St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C.? > Thanks > Lib in SC > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 -- Donald E. I set this up last year, as I was aware that many people researching UK FARRs did not subscribe to the FARR-L list as they found it too general and mainly serving the US. 3. This is being sent out to all of my lists to let you know about a problem RootsWeb began experiencing in the last couple of days that is causing some valid subscribers to not receive posts to lists he/she subscribes to. When a post is not delivered to a subscriber, it is "bounced" to the List Admin (that's me) for information. When a certain bounce threshold is reached within a given period of time, that subscriber is dropped from the list as no longer active. Normally this is good, because it purges the lists of people who change ISPs without notifying us, or are otherwise not receiving e-mail. In this case, however, it is due to certain ISPs who have installed spam filters and are listing RootsWeb on their reject list erroneously. In a few cases, some RootsWeb mail is getting through, and some is not, but in all cases when a subscriber reaches a given number of bounces, his subscription is terminated automatically by the servers. If you have a personal spam filter installed like "Spamcop" or others, or if your ISP has one installed to do it for you, then you are a possible candidate to have your RootsWeb mail cut off without notice. For now, please just keep an eye on the volume of mail you get. If you have a sudden drop in mail, try to subscribe to the list once again. If you are still subscribed, you should (hopefully) receive a notice to that effect. If you are not on the list any longer, your subscription attempt will be accepted and you will be put back on the list. You may also write to me privately if you would like me to check it for you, but please understand that with having 10 lists that I manage I cannot possibly do everyone manually so I would ask that you try it yourself first. I thank you in advance for your cooperation in this regard. I do not even know if this message will get to everyone, but hopefully it will. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me off the list. RootsWeb is working to resolve this problem with the people who control the spam filters, and hopefully it will be resolved before too many more people are dropped from the lists. Thanks Everyone, Derrell Oakley Teat, List Mom ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
