Now I am stuck. But it has a photo of a Luman and Emma Farr with a small blond child maybe two. Also another picture of three children. Written on back was "Children of Luman Farr, cousins, Bert .................Charlie". On the front there is a girl w/ a boy on each side of her and names above the boys on the photo album page "Burt Farr"......................."Charlie Farr" The Photo was taken inSaxton River, Vt. @ P.W.TAFT, Photographer. I have a tin photo 2" x 11/2" with paper tape sealing it to the picture frame for mailing w/a 2 cent stamp signed on stamp Mch 7 or 17, 1866. Embossed on the bottom of Photo holder says Hathaway Photographer Glen S Falls. Written @ the top in same hand writing as childrens picture is "Charlie's wife" but not her name. There are others but not definately marked Farr.

The information about a son from the first marriage is from an old letter written by a great-aunt, perhaps in the 1920's. I've never had any luck finding out about the son until now. What else can you tell me about him? I may be able to help some with the Farrs. Regards, Mary Anne Z. Wheeler

His parents were Lyman and Nancy Farr. He had two sisters. I think he was married to a first wife. I found information about "Ada Wheeler" and a penciled note about a baby named John Aoshie Farr born June 10, 1861,Sudbury, Rutland Co., Vermont, and died Grimmsell, Poweshiek Co., Iowa, August 31, 1862. My grandma's name was Emma Florence Farr (b. in California) and her brother, Charles Allyn Farr, born in Texas, 1889. I have photos of all these folks, but don't know what happened to Allen's sisters. I think someone moved to PA.

Allen's daughter was named Emma Florence Farr (son, Charles Allyn) so there might be a family connection-- often names are recycled. Family store that the "Allen" spelling was changed because the minister A. S. Farr was named after fell out of favor. So Samuel might be the family name. I have photos of Allen, Lyman, and Lyman's wife Nancy.
