I found the following on Genforum posted by "Washington County Native" in Feb 1998. Am searching for info on the family of Elizabeth FARR who obtained a marriage license Oct 23, 1816 to marry Owen Sullivan/Sullivant recorded in the Baldwin Co marriage records. James Farr purchased lands on Sept 2, 1811 (Township 9 Range 1 West) At this time this was either in Washington Co or Baldwin Co..it is hard to tell from the maps. In 1836 part of Township 9 fell into Mobile Co & by 1842 was back in the parent Co of Washington. 1810 Baldwin Co, Miss Territory Census James B Farr, 2 males over 21, 4 males under 21, 2 females over 21, & 1 female under 21. Any information is greatly appreciated, this could be my Farr family. Derrell Oakley Teat

FARR and wife Bertha A., Southern Wheel Company, 3 miles on Ogeechee Rd - Joseph M. FARR and wife Martha, FARR & RICHTER, 1133 47th St - William M. FARR, Jr. (same address as above) Malvena FARR and Rozela FARR were daughters of Joseph Malachi FARR and Rozela CARTER, which is from my CARTER lines. Malvena married a "DORMAN" between 10-10-1933 and 11-26-1934. She had at least one child named Thomas DORMAN who lived in Savannah. Rozela FARR married someone named "HILL" in Savannah, although I didn't have the date ranges, but suspect it was about the same time frames as Malvena. Also, I found this in the Grantee Index C-D, 7-1-1926 thru 12-31-1944: William M. FARR to James N. CARTER, Deed 21V, #285. ------------------------------------------ Also, I found Mary C. LaROCHE FARR. She's buried at Laurel Grove Cemetery - North Section, in Savannah, GA. Her dates and others in her burial site are: Lot 628: - Robert D. LaROCHE, b. 09-02-1860, d. 01-01-1899 - Mary Celia LaROCHE, b. 12-12-1862, d. 06-27-1949 (wife of Robert) - Mary C. LaROCHE FARR, b. 11-12-1891, d. 01-26-1983 (wife of Thomas C. Stewart NETTLES and daughter of Robert D. & Mary Celia) There was no sign of a grave for either Thomas C. FARR or W. Stewart NETTLES. Hope this helps you some.

Hello Donald, Thank you for the information. I have a lot of bits & pieces that I picked up at the Library in Springfield, including a whole column of Farr births between 1772 & 1803. I also found a page of information left by a Herbert Farr some years ago. I have been in touch with Herbert's nephew, since Herbert has passed on, but he doesn't know anything about James either. Unfortunately, although all signs point to my James Farr b. before 1761 as the son of Joseph Farr of Acton, there is no one fact that makes it definate. If you have access to a FAX machine I would be happy to Fax the info I got at the library to you......or an address that I can mail copies to you.
