Hi there, This last summer, my Mother purchased 2 old books at an estate sale. One, which I have, is an old German Hymnal. On the inside cover is a hand-written prayer, the date 1899, and the following inscription: M--- Tillie Thies, From Mrs. C.A. Stark The book my Mother kept is a small German Bible with several inscriptions, mostly in German. The name Thies is prevelant in this book also. She purchased the books somewhere near Huntley, IL. She doesn't believe anyone would want these books because they were being sold by the family at an estate sale. I, on the other hand, feel sorry for these poor lost books. I am sure I could convince her to give up the Bible if there is a family member out there that would like to have it back. If anyone out there is "related" to these poor books please contact me.
