    3. Hello and Happy New Year. When I received the file on my great great grandfather from the National Archives a family Bible was mentioned. It was used to prove his children's births so that they could receive a pension from the government as he was killed in the Civil War. So at one time a family Bible did exist. I joined this group in the hope...however remote...that the Bible is still somehwere. It would contain the following information. Henry PORTER and Christine or Elizabeth LUTZ PORTER were married about 1855 in Marine City, Michigan. This is in St. Clair County. Their children were Fredericka Elizabeth, Maria W. , John Frederick, and Henry C. All born between 1855 and 1862. The mother died in Marine City in 1862. The parents were from Germany, possibly Sachen. I know this is like looking for a needle in a haystack, but stranger things have happend. So I submit my inquery. Thanks for your time. Maxine Capezza
