I have a family Bible that is falling apart and would like to have it rebound. Has anyone had experience with doing this? Know of a reliable company that will do this at a reasonable price? Thanks, Barbara

I am looking for the bible of the Hoadley, Robinson or Wilson family from Iowa. I was told that the bible was give to Mary Peterson of Flint MI about 1930. She died about 1990 and Terry Van Cleave, a nephew, took care of her final arrangements and stuff. I can find no Terry via the phone book. I don't suppose anyone out there knows of him or this bible? I only want copies of what's in it, not the actual bible. Nettie Mae dysfun4@internetni.com Interested in HUMPHREY families? Barbara -- thanks much for all your work sifting through the chaff for the kernels.... I've been frequenting ebay for computer stuff and know that the auctions turn over fairly often -- they generally last for 3 to 7 days and the timing starts when the seller puts the entry on the system. So, you can see that it'd take quite frequent monitoring to have some confidence that you haven't missed the desired gem.

Sorry folks, here is the address for ebay http://www.ebay.com/ Once on their site, go to antiques, then do a search for Bible and check the "in antiques only" box. You'll get a bunch of listings. Several of them will be worth wading through. If you want to bid on them, you have to register yourself as a bidder, but if you only want to get in touch with the person auctioning the item, you can go to the item and then click on the seller's name and then send him a message. Personally I spend much of my time wandering through the several thousand antique auction items. Bruce Perry
Another place to look for family Bibles. I was going through eBay auction items this morning and did a search for Bibles. It came up with about 200 items, several of which were family Bibles that are being auctioned off. Some list surnames and locations. The items are on auction for 7 days. The seller e-mail address is listed so you can get in touch if necessary. New items are added all the time. Bruce Perry

Hello, The story goes as this. Elizabeth Ann Overfield b.1828 in Harrison Co. VA to the parents of Martin Overfield and Julia Ann Nutter. Elizabeth had a child with James B. Taylor in VA in 1853/54. This child was named James B. Taylor JR and sometimes would use his mothers maiden name. Elizabeth NEVER married James B. Taylor SR but she did go on to marry DAVID JONES on Sep. 12, 1861 in Doddridge or Ritchie Co. VA. It is said that Elizabeth and David Jones moved to OHIo from where he had come from and that she took with her the FAMILY BIBLE and other family papers. The BIBLE could be in the possesion of the Overfield or Jones families and would love to find it. James B. Taylor was my gg-grandfather.
