What Barbara is doing is not called spamming. I am grateful she is willing to search through and find all the great genealogy books and documents. I personally don't have the time to search Ebay, so I'm very glad she's doing it. I check here everyday hoping she's located the one book I'm desperately looking for and haven't been able to locate. Please Barbara, keep up the good work. There are more websites than most of us have time to look through, so I'm glad you're passing this information on to us. And Jeff is right. The MIME problem is caused by AOL. Information I receive never comes in MIME format. Judy Clark-Wick JWick@compuserve.com
Someone is going to a lot of work to help the rest of us who are searching for our family bibles. The person properly named BULL needs to unsubscribe. Jan Huff
I have AOL and have never had any problem receiving the messages directly.Since there seem to be so many of us who really enjoy Barbara's hard work, I would like to see her continue listing all the genealogy type things that come up on that sight she takes them from. I myself do not have the time to go all over looking for individual things like those documents . Someday she just might list one that would have reference to my family until then I just scan her postings. Thanks again Barbara Donna
Again, I agree completely. as long as they contain genealogy, it's okay with me. I'm sorry you had problems. I sent them in plain text. I was very careful about that. I don't know enough about computers to explain why you should have trouble. I am sorry about it though. The case had its roots from 1835 when William Webb died interstate. George Jones administrated the estate and this document alleges Jones essentially sacked the estate, swapping some of the negro slaves and alleging quite a bit of hanky-panky with the property. Most of the case swirls around the property of slaves who are identified as Caesar; a woman named Fanny her girl child about four years old named Melissa; a woman named Eliza and her five year old boy, Robert; as well as other slaves Elias, Morris, Lucy, Sally. As the case dragged on, Fanny had another child, Nancy. The petition claims Jones engineered a complicated scheme to hide the assets (slaves) and sell them off for his own benefit. There was also the fear that the notoriously insolvent man might remove the slaves from the jurisdiction of the court or conceal them. He ultimately filed for bankruptcy with no mention of the slaves in question among his assets. Document follows the case and all its convoluted twists and turns, judgments, motions, answers, continuances, appeals, charges, counter-charges, accusations, etc. Last date in document is Dec. 12, 1850. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=83093129 Item #83093129 1947 ORNATE ILLINOIS WORLD WAR II CERTIFICATE Certificate awarded to Robert E.
