WRONG ! You have 2 of the best Tech Support options right here. First, there is a large contingent of members of this list who can solve a variety of problems. You may get some incorrect information from some who may misunderstand your needs or are trying to help based upon their own experiences. Secondly, the author of Family Origins is a active member of this list and provides guidence as well. Now to your specific problem. You need to tell us a lot more. On your XP laptop, did you back up your data before trying to add this other batch? What program were you using to perform this "USB data exchange"? What files were you trying to move or copy? What do you mean FOW 10 did not like this? - specific messages. The message you detailed about the error opening the program is from XP. It sounds like you corrupted the installation of FOW 10. Just re-install it and try again. You may have also created other faults within Windows, which could be a much more serious matter. The Formal Soft website is a Catch 22 situation. > Has anyone come across this problem--I installed 10 on my new laptop with XP. It worked fine for 2-3 months until I wanted to add new data. I was using a program to copy data by a USB cable from the desktop to the laptop. FO-10 did not like this at all. Now I can's even get the program to open. I am getting a message that says "we encountered an error opening this program. Do you want us to notify Microsoft"? I know M/S is not going to do anything about it. > Any suggestions? > Jack. > Jack Revare > Leawood, KS > [email protected] > Fam.
