I hate to be a drag but I just got this update for Legacy, and I am intrigued because that is what I am trying to do in FOW now from 8509 places to 7498 so far, but occasionally I must stop and do something else as it does get tiresome so then I go to where occupations have been entered as place and am making those right there are also tons of" had 9 or had 12" children so I go in and make those into notes NOT PLACES and remove the reference as a place one by one.!!! This has sure taught me a lesson in importing files NOT TO DO IT BLINDLY!!!! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ * Combining Multiple Locations in Legacy Did you know multiple locations can be combined at once on the Master Location List by highlighting an entire group at the same time? Often, through entering information and by importing records from other people you will end up with two or more variations of the same location, spelled a little bit differently. For example, you might end up with: Pompton Pl., Morris, NJ Pompton Plains, Morris, NJ Pompton Plains, Morris Co., NJ Pompton Plains, Morris, New Jersey Pompton Plains, Morris, New Jersey, USA All of these locations are obviously the same place and should be combined into just one, "good", location name. This is very easy to do in Legacy.
