For those who do not understand or comprehend the development cycle of software such as FOW. Immediately upon releaseing a new version of a product, the cycle begins over for the next release. This is the point in time where negotiations occur and the basic feature set for the next version is formulated. This time period is typically 2-4 month in duration. That means by January, the basic content is fixed and the contracts are signed for the next version. >From about January through about April, actual development and initial testing occurs. Minor fixes and enhancements may be included. By May or June, Beta Testing begins. At this point a rare change may occur. Normally, only refinements and bug fixes are incorporated. By mid July, everything is ready for "factory release". At this point, a months breather for vacations etc., then everything starts over with the "Release Announcement". This topic comes up every year when the new release comes out. One group makes suggestions for enhancements and the other group hollers "Foul". There is another group that becomes vocal sometimes saying "Leave it Alone", "Don't Improve it", or "What do you expect for such a low cost" Before responding to any of the messages, try and put yourself in the opposing position and think about it.
