    1. [FO] Hoe to edit Notes
    2. Bryce L Hager
    3. I am using FO8.03 and opened a new data base and imported a GED COM. everything went well except there is double notes on the people that had notes on them. The problem is to edit each of them is not practical as there ore over 65000 in the file. Any suggestions out there, and these are mostly family members. I am open to suggestions. Bryce Hager

It sounds like you are saying that you found a gedcom file somewhere that has 65000 people in it and and all the notes are written twice, or duplicated. If that's the case then there's not much you can do about it. Since all the notes are different, any kind of global editing is out. You'll have to fix them one at a time. Someone has really fouled up years and years of work by doubling the notes. But that's not so far out, since you normally need to go over any new gedcom with a fine tooth comb anyway, to check the data and make its format agree with your data. Fixing all those notes is not too much extra work besides what you would need to do anyway. The unusual thing is the enormous size of the gedcom file. 65000 people in a database is the result of years and years of research work and you should not expect to zap all that into a database with little or no effort.
