If you are experiencing this problem and it really is a memory problem as is suspected, then using "RamBooster" should alleviate the problem. Rambooster runs in the tray and restores memory whenever it falls below a certain point that you can specify. It is free and can be found at http://www.saunalahti.fi/~borg/rambooster/ Wayne League

    3. Well Wayne - I downloaded Ram Booster and it is really fun so far. I an doing quite a bit of dragging and dropping - one of the worst things I have found that causes the whiteout condition. I have a 40 page descendant report from a descendant from another branch (using 4 line ). My descendant report on this family runs 31 pages, but we have different length branches for different children in the family. We tend to have the same information with few exceptions for the earlier members of the family. Some places I have chosen to drag and drop and merge the affected families and others, enter manually minor differences. Some, I am able to drop a couple of pages worth of folks from one child. So far, when the number drops below a certain level - I have been writing some of the numbers down, so I think it must be around 3000 Kb (the lowest number I have down is 3136), it flashes a little red spot (not really a spot, a red square with RB on it, but really fast and the number goes back up - in one instance, I have this number written 3576 to 5132. I'll keep you posted. But so far it seems to be helping. I don't think I need to set it - so far. I may fiddle with it later, but so far, I'm doing fine. I still have FO open (minimized) as I write. It fluctuates between the 3000 - 5000 (more like 34 something to 54 something as I type.
