    3. I just received a message about ordering version 10 of FO from Genealogy.com prior to the release date ".....As a valued Family Origins user, you have the opportunity to order your Family Origins 10.0 upgrade now, weeks before the official launch date!..." Is this a way for Genealogy.com to make sales before Bruce releases its sale on his web site? Last year Bruce had several ordering options, some including the book. I'm assuming most of us want to order from Bruce's site rather than the big conglomerate. As I also recall from last year, Bruce charged less for the shipping, at least for those ordering from without the US. Margaret Scheffler

    3. I don't know if you all realize this or not, but when Bruce sells the Family Origins program he has to act just like any other reseller of the product. That is, he has to order the FO CD's wholesale from genealogy.com, pay for them himself, and then sell them to us. So, logically, I would expect to see them available from genealogy.com a little ahead of Bruce. For you folks in Australia, you probably remember that TLC was charging about $35 US just for shipping the FO CD to Australia a year or two ago. Right now on Bruce's web site at http://formalsoft.com/orders.htm he is charging only $5 US to ship the FO9 CD to Australia or the Pacific Rim or to Europe. That's the same as it costs us here in the US. I would guess FO10 will be similar, but I don't know for sure. And, of course, Bruce cannot discuss these things publicly because of ethical and/or contractual considerations.
