    3. What happened to FORMALSOFT? Have they sold Family Origins software to GENEALOGY.COM?? Went looking for them on the web this morning and could not find the FORMALSOFT web site. Then I searched for Family Origins... and now I find we have a version 10.0 that is available. Can someone please updated me as to what has happened? I normally get notified about new versions of Family Origins, but I didn't this time. Doesn't GENEALOGY.COM also own Family Tree Maker??? Someone please bring me up to date. Thanks!!!!! 3. As I recall, it went something like this... Parson's marketed FO for Bruce. This went on for a long time. Then Parson's was bought by the company that owned FTM. I don't recall what they were called at that time, maybe it was Mattel. Anyway, that apparently failed, and Genealogy.com was "spun off" as a separate company. The genealogy programs went with it. I think at about that time, they decided to drop Ultimate Family Tree (formerly Roots). Then recently G.C was bought by the same company that owns the Arts & Entertainment Channel on Cable. (That's why we see so many G.c advertisements on A&E now). So anyway, it seems to be that G.c still "markets" FO, but as far as I can tell, Bruce still "owns" it. 3. It is still there. Genealogy.con only sells and distributes Family Origins, it is still FormalSoft's baby. I don't know why you couldn't find the FormalSoft site, but the web has been a bit flaky lately, maybe some hacker messing things up some more. Try this URL: http://formalsoft.com/index.htm Yes, Genealogy.com owns Family Tree Maker. I own a 1986 Ford too, but I don't brag about it much <};-) the Family-Origins-Users-Mailing list administrator Alfred Eller =============== ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ray Thigpen" <rst10480@yahoo.com> > What happened to FORMALSOFT?
