Due to a programming error, PAF 5 reads and stores information incorrectly within its database from GEDCOM's. This bug does not effect every individual during GEDCOM Imports, but just certain individuals. The exact failure mode for these individuals is not known, but the symptoms are "Application Error" and program termination, when attempting to open the Edit screen. The same GEDCOM file will Import correctly in PAF 4 and the database can be transferred to PAF 5 without error. Sources in England tell me that this sometimes happens with PAF 4 GEDCOM's and GEDCOM's downloaded from Family Search also. I am not planning to investigate futher, but have two different GEDCOM's created by FOW that are currently causing this problem in PAF 5. This message may appear to be off topic initially, but the symptoms make it look like a FOW issue. It is not an FOW created issue. Your counter parts using PAF may beleive that you are sending bad data. Try to explain to them it is an issue with PAF 5 only. Dick
