That would be handy. I solved my problem long ago by adding (1st great, 2nd great, etc) in the Title (suffix) field. I have never had much to put in that particular field so it does not present a problem for me and I always know the way back. It isn't linear, it loops out one way to get to me, and also loops out another. I've always wished for something like you are asking for, only in reverse. When I am on the family screen and clicking to go to the parent several times, I wish "C+" was like HTML and would leave me a highlighted trail. I usually can't remember the exact path back to the person on whom I was working before I had to look at some ancestor for some reason. I believe many of us use some kind of symbol either after the surname, before the surname or after or before the given name. These are easily seen in the list of children when going "backwards". And if you send a report to someone, they can also easily see your line. Myself, i use a ^ after the given name. This way, the surnames all still sort with the given names in alphabetical order. If I put the ^ before or after the surname, the explore list will sort with all the Surname^ or ^Surname at the top of the list, which if I do a search on a particular person will mean they won't show up in the usual place with everyone else of that surname. Same reason for not putting the ^ before the given name. They will sort at the first of the alphabetical listing of given names for that particular surname. -- Janelle Holmes Wildair Kennels Dripping Springs, TX
