Similar to that. Go out to Google, and type in pen drive. They are in fact a "memory stick" that when plugged into a USB port, the computer sees it as another drive. You can purchase them in 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB or 1GB drives. I have one and it works great. I had to install a driver for my Windows 98 PC, but Windows XP saw it automatically and took care of everything. My windows 98 PC sees it as drive "F", while Windows XP sees it as drive "E". Once it is plugged in, it is just a simple matter of copying and pasting files from one drive to another. -----Original Message----- From: georgia draves [mailto:robinhd@shawneelink.net] Sent: Wednesday, January 08, 2003 11:52 AM To: FAMILY-ORIGINS-USERS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [FO] memory stick When you say backup to a memory stick. Tom.... the same for me. I had to install it for my Win98, but Win2000 found it automatically. It only took about 1 minute or less to install it on Win98. Nothing to it. I plan on purchasing a 256MB next so that I can load my whole database on it. What is really great about it is that you can transport your data from one computer to another with ease. All of my relatives in LA have FO and this is the greatest way that I know of to update their files when I visit.
