Once we have created the website and have an ftp program, what are the steps to upload it to or link it to another site? For instance, a page at Freepages or Geocities. IMHO, you are better off somewhere else, other than Genealogy.com anyway, and for several reasons not worth going into on the list. If you look into this list's archives, though, you will find a whole string of reasons for leaving that server. It took me a long time to finally walk away myself, but once I did it I never for a fleeting moment ever regretted it. I personally use RootsWeb (for free) and like them for many reasons, but there are a number of others out there that are also very good. It will require some new learning, and perhaps some new software if you do not have any FTP software installed, but in time you will be glad you did it. David E.
