Hi, As a veteran, I use the stock 'Military' fact but to keep from messing up my place file, I just put the inclusive dates in for service. Then in the fact notes, I have input my specific duty station. It reads ____ served in the military between 1951 and 1961. (I may have altered the wording to read 'served in the military') My notes are: 3 Dec 1951 Enlisted and was sworn in at the 7th Street Armory, Louisville Ky. Issued service number xxx-xx-xx.. 3 Dec 1951 Moved on troop train to Great Lakes, IL for basic training. Spring 1952 Moved via troop train to Little Creek, VA, awaiting orders to an amphib ship. Apr 1952 Assigned to USS Thuban(AKA-19), homeport Norfolk, VA Summer 1953 Cruised to Japan to transfer the 2nd Marines to Korea Summer 1955 Cruised to Artic Circle for SUNEC II-55. DEW line resupply.
