To All Genealogists and Family Historians -- There has been some talk on a couple of the lists of late concerning a study being done by Brigham Young University. I went to the web site and this looks like a wonderful beginning step in creating a true, genetic genealogy. In a nutshell, they're taking blood samples and 4-generation pedigrees from people all over the world in an effort to create a MOLECULAR GENEALOGY of the human race. I spoke with the Director of Public Affairs for the Houston Family History Centers and he expressed an interest in putting on an event here in Houston to support the BYU study. You could do the same thing in your communities and we could really help get this project off to a roaring good start. Security/Privacy issues are discussed at the site.
