    3. I sure do need some help! I am trying to import an LDS Gedcom file into a new "Family Origin" database. I have tried to follow the instructions in the Family Origins Handbook, "Importing A Gedcom File" I am unable to read the LDS Gedcom file - it is not in English text. Can someone walk me thru the procedure - I am really new to this. Most appreciative Greta in Lake Placid, Florida. Greta in Lake Placid, Fl mailto:gretasgarden@htn.net

    3. Hi Greta -- It sounds like this is NOT a gedcom file. If it's a gedcom, you can open it with MS Word, WordPad, NotePad or any other text editor. What is the extension on the end of the filename (e.g. .dat, .doc, .txt, .fow, etc.)? -- Happy Hunting!! -- Paul Houston, TX, USA ICQ #73314929 Researching: VA - WHITE,LIPSCOMB,HILL,JOHNSON,SAUNDERS, TALBOT,TATE,EVANS NC - SMITH, BOSWELL, RHODES, CAPEHART,MORRIS, MARSHE, BRITT,SHAW View my American Ancestry at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~paulrsmith **************** FREE Credit Card Referral Program.
