    3. Hi list, I have the opportunity to get a new computer and can have Windows 2000 or Windows ME put on it. Can I use FO 9.02 with one or both of these Windows programs or would it be best to have Win 98 installed again. Any advice would be appreciated. Laura

    3. Both versions of Windows are compatible with FOW. The Win 2K (Workstation) costs more than Win Me, and has a few drawbacks due to its design when compared to Win Me for Home users. The choice is yours. If you have been using Win 98, then the logical path is Win Me. Similarly, if you have been using Win NT, then Win 2K is next. This summer, both versions of Windows start their phase outs. Microsoft is releasing the next generation of Windows, Windows XP. It is a combined version of Windows, rewritten without DOS. FOW should work without any issues, but I cannot verify that. 3. Install either ME or 2000 but DO NOT install Win98. That OS is horribly crash prone. I use and really, really like Win2000 so I would give it the nod but I haven't used ME so I can't really compare the two. -- Happy Hunting!! -- Paul Houston, TX, USA ICQ #73314929 Researching: VA - WHITE,LIPSCOMB,HILL,JOHNSON,SAUNDERS, TALBOT,TATE,EVANS NC - SMITH, BOSWELL, RHODES, CAPEHART,MORRIS, MARSHE, BRITT,SHAW View my American Ancestry at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~paulrsmith **************** FREE Credit Card Referral Program.
