When you can give the exact message given (including all of those numbers and computer eeze) when your files are corrupted, there are several gurus on here who are wonders at getting it straightened out. Meanwhile, try this. Close Family Origins. In Windows Explorer, go to the directory (folder) that has your FOW data files. Click on the little button at the top that says "type". This will make Explorer sort by file type. Now find all of the Files with the CDX extension, meaning they end with dot/period/decimal point cdx.. Highlight them and delete them all. (They'll go to your re-cycle bin, so are not lost completely until you emply it.) Close Explorer and open FOW. If that fixed the problem, you should see a box saying something about "re-indexing". When it's done, you will have your database back. Norma
