Linda, With the patch to 9.02 I have found this an extremely stable program as used on my desktop and laptop computers. On the list, you hear mostly about people who have problems and not about the many of us who rarely have one. Through the FO versions I have used (3 through 9), I have found Family Origins one of the most stable programs I have used over the years. I do not ever remember having a corrupt database -- did once create a corrupt gedcom. Considering the number of hours I spend on genealogy per week, I consider this an excellent record and program. I have managed to restore a recent database and am now doing frequent back-ups! I notice that others have had the same problem and error messages - is this a common fault with the programme or are we all doing something obviously wrong? > Linda
Let me add that I recently pulled the Grandma III collection into FO. That collection contains over 400,000 names in one tree. In the notes that the California Mennonite Historical Society sent with the CD they comment that the only program besides Brother's Keeper, that will handle that size of database is Family Origins. A very nice complement to FO. And FO looks a lot friendlier than BK.
