Highlight that person, go to the edit menu and select Unlink, select from Parents or Spouse, usually it is a double link to a spouse, then break one of the links. If he is only listed once in the explorer, that should be all you need to do. If he were listed more than once, you would have to delete one instance or merge the two instances of him.
