A word of caution about the fire-proof safe. Although the contents are protected from the actual flame of a fire, the safe may still be subjected to intense heat. FO backups on diskettes, CDs, and other magnetic media, as well as photos in the form of 35 mm slides could still easily melt or become too badly deformed to be of any use.
