    3. It is similar to Family Origins, you just make a backup of both files (just in case!) Export a GEDCOM file of everyone in one of the files and import it into the other file. If there are none of the same individuals in the two files, all you have to do is link the two together by adding the child to a family or marrying a couple. If there are some of the same individuals in both databases you have to MERGE (That is a dirty, five letter word), so it might be better to remove those like individuals before exporting the GEDCOM. I don't remember exactly how the merge individuals feature works in PAF, and I suppose it is a little different in different versions. The main thing is to make a backup or two and keep them safely out of harms way while you are working with the files. Here is a good place for your friend to inquire about PAF: http://genforum.genealogy.com/paf/ Good luck, Alfred =========== ----- Original Message ----- From: "Yvonne Bennett" <yvonne@monmouth.com> > Can someone on the list answer this question for my friend? <<"Do you > know if there is a way to merge 2 family (separate) files in PAF ?">> I > don't use PAF, and we can't find the answer in the help section. > Yvonne > >
