Hello, I just downloaded a file from Ancestry.com to a 3 1/2" floppy. It was named 14236.exe. It said it was a self extracting utility. I got the message-PKSFX-(E50) Disk full, file: 14236.GED. I cannot get it to import in FO8. Isn't it called .GED now and how do I import it? Thanks. Maxine
Maxine, If you are trying to "unwind" it on the floppy there isn't enough disk space. It tried to create the GED file but couldn't and that's why there is a GED file name on the floppy. It is necessary to copy the EXE file to your hard drive and open it there. Be sure to put the EXE in a folder where you wish to use the GED file. Otherwise it will be necessary to remember where you "unwound" the file. Once the GED file has been created it will be possible to import it into a FO database. Remember to import the GEDCOM into a new empty database so that there will be no problems that may trash your existing database(s).
