In my old Star Micronics printer book I found the ASCII character sets. In the extended standard set the number 156 references the ü but in the IBM extended character set the number 156 references the £, which is what I get if I hold down the Alt key and type 156 on the numeric keypad. So, I would suspect that the two programs are speaking different languages. Those numbers above 127 were never set in stone as the first 128 were. But, I don't know what to do about it, unless you could do a search and replace in the GEDCOM.
