I have a problem that may have been discussed before. I have been trying to put my family tree on the Internet using FOW v 9.02. This is what I have done. I created a GEDCOM of the people I want shown on the web site. I went through the Facts List, and unmarked all the facts I didn't want on the web site. I then created my web site, selecting family group sheets, and reviewed it through the browser. All the facts I marked not to be listed on WWW was listed, including the the Facts I did mark on to be on the website. I tried different methods to block the facts I didn't want on the web. The only way I could omit the facts I didn't want on the web, was umark the facts on the original file so not to export to a GEDCOM, then I created a GEDCOM for web use. I then had to return to my original file and changed the Facts back to its original form. With the facts not exported on the new GEDCOM, the facts naturally didn't appear on the web browser. This seems like a alot of extra work, steps, and it bothers me to change the original file around so much. Isn't there an easier way to do this? My questions are --- Why are the facts unmarked for WWW appearing on the web browser? Why do the Facts status change when a GEDCOM is created. I.E.: After I create a GEDCOM, I still had to go back and change its Facts List - if I unmarked the fact to be exported, it, wasn't there to be corrected. I thought if I just unmarked WWW on the Fact List of the original file, created a GEDCOM, that the Facts would remain unmarked for WWW on the GEDCOM. Better yet, why can't I just unmark the facts I don't want on the WWW on my original file, and create a website from there, without the unmarked facts appearing on the browser? This doesn't appear to be the case --- what am I doing wrong. Why do I have to create a separate GEDCOM? How can I cut down all these steps? Lynn

If you're doing a family group sheet web page then you must unmark the fact from being used in family group sheets to keep the fact from appearing in that type of web page. Wayne League
