Thanks, FL, although I've used FO since its inception, I sure don't know everything about it! 8-{ However, having just done some editing via the GEDCOM and comparing that with trying to do it with Global Search and Replace in FO9, I find it easier to find the problems that need to be changed with the former than the latter.
