If you do not have the gedcom file type entered or registered at all, then IE will display the gedcom file as text as David says. But if you enter the .ged as a new file type, leaving the "content type (MIME)" blank, AND enter an "open" action where you associate the gedcom file with some program (perhaps your text editor), then IE will ask you whether you want to save the file to disk when you click on the gedcom link in David's website. This works on his gedcom as he has it now on his website. I'm seeing it happen with my own MSIE browser. Wayne League
