In my opinion one should NOT be afraid of a program that has a patch to fix program bugs. However, a program that does not have patches, likely means its author/distributor does not care about the bugs and not doing much of anything to tell the user how to fix or work around them. With all the complications of Windows and a large variety of programs, we will always find bugs in our programs if we use them extensively. We are so lucky to have this list and Bruce, author of the program, who tries to address all our concerns. Versions 8 and 9 of FO have been very stable and I have probably entered over 25,000 people during the period of time I have been using versions 8 and then 9. Version 8 had that little problem with the backups, but it caused no major problems and could be eliminated entirely if one chose a short path for the program, i.e. C:\fowin8. I would not trust my invaluable data and extensive amount of work to a program that was not stable. FO in all its versions is about the most stable program I have ever used. I like many other on this list, watch for the new version updates and order immediately. We would not be doing this if all the versions were not reliable. Like Patricia I liked version 6 when it was new, but I would certainly have not given up the new features added in the next versions. Sorry, not to be able to help to suggest much for Patricia's printing problem. I am assuming she has uninstalled and reinstalled her printer driver as well as checking its website for an updated driver. If not, perhaps those will help. I am not in any hurry to upgrade since I read all the "stuff" about 8.0". They will have to take care of this patch thing before I want to try any new version, I read enough from Fam. Microsoft has patches that I get regularly from them. Some of the programs I have and some I don't. They tell what the patch is for. I'm not afraid of them so why should I be afraid of the ones for FO. Are the FO patches listed somewhere??
