Perhaps I have missed something in the discussion of the new LDS program. However, why would we expect other genealogy programs, including FO, to be compatible with a brand new program if it does not conform to the existing gedcom standards? I would think it would be the responsibility of the LDS programmers to make their new program compatible with the others, not the other way around. I don't want to stir a hornet's nest. I just 'thought' the programmers know what one another are doing--guess I'm a little naive!! Previous posts to the list mentioned the new XML gedcom. I think a lot of things will be improving, changing, upgrading and we will have to roll with the punches for a while. Then we'll get comfortable and things will 'improve' again. Seems like a never ending learning curve--but I guess that won't hurt too many of us. Linda "Friends are God's way of taking care of us."
