    2. Hello List, I seem to have two seperate problems that perhaps you con help me with. First when I open my data base and go to search button[flashlite] I get two of everyone and they have different numbers.the entries are different in as much as one will be in capital letters and the other in small letters, I think I have somehow mixed two data bases together by importing from my laptop. Is there a way I can seperate them out but still keep the two data bases. My second problem is that I purchased FO9 and tried to put the patch onto it but it refuses to accept it. Somehow I still seem to be tied to Parsons Tech which I had hoped to get away from if possible I purchased my FO9 from Genealogy .com? Thankyou all for any help forthcoming. 3. To apply the patch, you need to know the path for the fowin32.exe file because the path needs to go in the same directory as that file. Click on Start, then find, and search for fowin32.exe. Where the program files are, depends on where you installed them. Mine are in C:\fowin9. The default installation may have put the version 9 program files in a parsons tech path. It does not really matter to the program function -- what does matter is to get the patch to the same directory where the program files are located. As far as the combining of your two databases. I would delete the mixed up one, and restore your last good backup, assuming of course you have been making backups. If you have duplicates of everything, then you may have accidentally combined two copies of the same database. To transfer the same database between two computers as you make changes to one of them, BACKUP up the most recent version on a floppy or zip disk, then RESTORE to the computer that you want to update. DO NOT make a gedcom of one of them and import it into the other database and try to merge. You will end up with lots of duplicates. Incidentally, the best place to purchase FOWIN9 or 10 when it comes out is directly from Bruce's site at http://formalsoft.com -- However, the program will be exactly the same no matter where you purchase it from.
